Poles

Poles: Made of FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) correspond to fiberglass structures of length according to the specific requirements of each project and are commonly used in aquaculture, specifically to lift bird nets that protect the cultered fish in the rafts-cages. The poles allow the bird net to be kept in position without the need to use HDPE structures in the center of the cage, since the catenary of traditional raised bird nets does not occur.
FRP is a strong and durable material, making it suitable for applications in aquatic environments. In addition, being lightweight and resistant to corrosion, it is an efficient option for the construction of the poles that support the bird nets. This helps maintain a safe environment for farmed fish by preventing potential threats from predatory birds.
The main characteristics of the use of poles in aquaculture are:
- Durability and Corrosion Resistance: Fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) is known for its corrosion resistance, making it ideal for aquatic environments. FRP poles are durable and are not affected by constant exposure to salt or fresh water.
- Lightness: FRP poles are light compared to some metallic materials, making them easier to handle and transport.
- Flexibility and Resistance: FRP is a material that combines flexibility and resistance, which is beneficial to
adapt to the variable conditions of water, waves and wind. - Ease of Maintenance: FRP poles are low maintenance, as they do not require additional painting or coatings to protect against corrosion.
- Cost Efficient: Although FRP may have a higher initial cost compared to some materials, its long-term durability and strength can make it more cost effective over time.
Bird Nets: The protection of farmed fish against attacks by predatory birds is essential to guarantee the success of aquaculture in natural environments where birds are part of the ecosystem.
Bird nets used in aquaculture play a fundamental role in protecting farmed fish. These nets are structures that are placed on the cage-rafts and prevent attacks by birds for obtaining food provided by the feeding systems associated with fish farming.
They correspond to nets that prevent bird attacks on fish farming cages. They are widely used in all cage-raft farming and deter attacks on farmed fish.
There is a variety of materials and designs associated with each cage-raft and farmed species, our specialty being those associated with salmon farming cages.
It is important to keep in mind that the effectiveness of these measures may vary depending on the species of predatory birds present in the region and the specific conditions of the growing site. Additionally, it is essential to follow sustainable and environmentally friendly practices when implementing these protective measures.
As part of our services, we include guidance on the materials to be used, as well as, if necessary, the design, preparation and installation of the bird nets, in accordance with the requirements of each particular client.
For this, we work with the most important suppliers of net cloth to the aquaculture industry.
Bird Nets

Services

Services: We have specialized in the following services for the aquaculture industry.
- Installation of lifting systems for bird nets through the use of poles:
Due to our objective of providing solutions for the elevation of bird nets on floating structures, we have been developing strong know-how in installing the systems, which has allowed us to implement numerous farming centers with our pole systems and aerial bird nets.
- Supply of Labor for tasks in the cultivation center – Reinforcement in High Season:
We have created a support network by building a team of collaborators with experience in farming centers and fish farms, which allows us to provide support in specialized tasks during short periods of time when it is necessary to reinforce the farming tasks.
